It took awhile for me to consolidate my thoughts for 2011, but at least I made it by the Lunar New Year (currently ongoing).
3 weddings and 3 divorces amongst some friends,
2 vacation trips abroad for my parents, (which meant 2 vacations at home for me).
Major illness for a good friend's mum, death for another friend's dad.
Some friends left to work/study, some friends came back.
And of course, Singapore held its "watershed" elections.
Lots more was going on in the lives of people around me, than anything very eventful for myself. But looking at the yin-yang balance, it is hard to decide if the result would be a nett profit or in the red.
But what has passed, is in the past. The optimist in me looks forward to enjoying my 2012. No, the earth will not be destroyed in December this year because Isaiah 45:18 and Psalm 119:90 says so. But should the world economy collapse, I just hope not to be reduced to bankruptcy.
Personally, 2009 was a year of change, 2010 was a year of firsts, 2011 was at status quo, who knows what 2012 would bring?
